COLUMBUS—State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) today announced the passage of two critical pieces of legislation he spearheaded in the Ohio House of Representatives.

COLUMBUS—State Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) spearheaded legislative efforts to ban TikTok on government devices and overhaul the current village dissolution process, which today both passed the Ohio House of Representatives.

Legislation to modernize and streamline the municipal net profits tax regarding remote work passed today in the Ohio House, which was spearheaded by State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel (R-Columbiana County). The representative spoke to the bill on the House floor. 

COLUMBUS –State Reps. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) and Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) have introduced “prompt pay” legislation that would require owners of private sector construction projects to pay prime contractors in 30 days or less after invoices are provided.

COLUMBUS – The House Insurance Committee passed Madeline’s Law, legislation joint sponsored by State Reps. Bob Young (R-Green) and Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson). 

State Representatives Adam Mathews’ (R-Lebanon) and Nick Santucci’s (R-Howland Twp.) legislation to raise the tax deduction for joint filers for contributions to 529 plans and Ohio ABLE savings accounts unanimously passed during its committee hearing on Tuesday.

State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announces that she will be hosting another Open Office Hours event within the 72nd Ohio House District to discuss any questions, issues, and concerns with her constituents. The event will take place in Ravenna at a local business.

State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) invited and presented a proclamation from the Ohio House Representatives to Miss Ohio 2022, Elizabetta Nies, during a recognition ceremony on the House floor. Miller also acknowledged Nies and other young women vying for this year’s Miss Ohio during the legislative session.
