Rep. John Patrick Carney: Ohio's Economy is Falling Behind
Today, Gov. Kasich, Speaker Batchelder and President Faber spoke to members of the business community during a year-in-review speech at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. State Rep. John Patrick Carney (D-Columbus) released the following statement in response to today’s speech:.
“It is disappointing that none of Ohio’s leaders took responsibility today for the poor shape of our economy in Ohio. Over 427,000 Ohioans are out of work and Ohio’s unemployment rate is worse than the national average for the first time in three years. It’s safe to say that Governor Kasich’s controversial project, JobsOhio, is not working.
"Our state is falling behind. Middle class Ohioans deserve solutions that will make the economy work for them, not more tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.”
