Husted's $1M Dark Money Contribution from FirstEnergy Shows Weeds of Corruption Run Deep in Halls of Government
COLUMBUS – House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today released the following statement regarding the Cleveland.com report that in 2017 FirstEnergy made a $1 million contribution to a nonprofit organization supporting Jon Husted’s campaign for governor before he joined the DeWine-Husted ticket.
“The report showing Lt. Gov. Jon Husted received a $1 million dark money contribution by FirstEnergy in 2017 once again shows a disturbing pattern of behavior that for years the highest levels of the DeWine-Husted Administration acted on behalf of corporate interests even before taking office,” said Leader Russo. “We must pass the needed reforms to ban these practices and undo the corruption tax greedy corporations and politicians have inflicted on Ohioans.”
