State Representative John Domenick (D-Smithfield) of the 95th District is a familiar name and face in his hometown. He is currently serving his fourth term for people in Jefferson and Eastern Belmont Counties.

The Smithfield High School and University of Cincinnati graduate has a storied history of service to his community. Rep. Domenick served our country in the uniforms of the Marine Corps and the National Guard. He also broadcast the weather to viewers in the Wheeling, West Virginia area for more than 30 years. He retired in 2002 as Weather Director at WTRF-TV in Wheeling, where he started working in 1970.

Now, he splits his time between Smithfield and the Statehouse. In Columbus, Rep. Domenick is Chairman of the Ohio House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and serves on the Local Government and Public Administration Committee, the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Back home, Rep. Domenick is owner of “D” Enterprises. He is President of the Smithfield Alumni Association, and he sits on the Boards of Directors of Easter Seals, East Ohio Regional Hospital and “A Special Wish” Foundation. Rep. Domenick is also a member of the Smithfield Lions Club, and he is a former state vice president of the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists.

Domenick and his wife Martha have a married son, John Domenick III, and two grandchildren.
