Biography
State Representative David Burke is serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 83rd House District, which includes Logan and Union counties as well as part of Marion County.
Born in Cincinnati and adopted at three months of age, Representative Burke grew up in Marion, Ohio. He received his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University and his master’s degree in Business Administration from Capital University.
In 1997 Representative Burke launched his family business, Dave’s Pharmacy, with his wife. He began his career in politics six years ago, when he became vice president of the Marysville City Council. He remains active in many community organizations and enjoys bow hunting and sporting clays in his spare time.
Representative Burke lives in Marysville with his wife Donna and their two children, Alexandra and Adam.
Responsibilities
A State Representative is an elected official whose job is to serve as a direct link between those Ohioans he or she was elected to represent and state government. In order to best fulfill this role, a representative responds to constituent concerns and works to provide solutions through legislative action. In order to best serve their constituents, a state representative attends meetings of their local civic, social and business groups in addition to responding to mail, email and telephone correspondence from constituents in their district.
