Biography
State Representative Courtney Combs is serving his fourth term in the Ohio House of Representatives, having been appointed in 2004. He represents the 54th House District, which includes the cities of Hamilton, Fairfield, and Ross Township in Butler County.
Prior to joining the Ohio House, Representative Combs served on Hamilton City Council and was Butler County Commissioner from 1986 until his appointment to the Ohio House. He attended the Real Estate Institute at Miami University, is a licensed realtor, and is a broker of Combs Group Realty.
Representative Combs remains active in his community through his involvement with the St. Peter in Chains Church, the Hamilton and Fairfield Chambers of Commerce, the Hamilton-Fairfield Heart Association, Hamilton, Fairfield and Oxford Board of Realtors and Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana (OKI) Regional Council of Governments. He is a former president and executive committee member of the Ohio County Commissioners Association, which awarded him the Outstanding County Official Award in 2002. He has been honored with the Watchdog of the Treasury Award and the Children’s Hospital Association Legislative Award.
Representative Combs and his wife Carol Sue have been married for 40 years. They have five children and five grandchildren.

Responsibilities
A State Representative is an elected official whose job is to serve as a direct link between those Ohioans he or she was elected to represent and state government. In order to best fulfill this role, a representative responds to constituent concerns and works to provide solutions through legislative action. In order to best serve their constituents, a state representative attends meetings of their local civic, social and business groups in addition to responding to mail, email and telephone correspondence from constituents in their district.
