Biography

State Representative Mike Moran (D-Hudson) is proud to serve his first term as the voice of the 42nd Ohio House District, which represents Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake and Stow.

As an at-large Hudson City Council member (and immediate past Council president), Rep. Moran was instrumental in working on government cost control that resulted in an annual savings of $2 million in the city’s budget. He has also promoted accountability in government.

On council, Rep. Moran served two years as liaison to Hudson’s Planning Commission, where he could utilize his formal training as a civil engineer. That training helps him understand infrastructure issues facing cities and states as they attempt to compete in the 21st-century economy. Rep. Moran aims to use that expertise to help Ohio grow its business and employment base.

Moran is a former manager of Thomson Reuters, one of the largest international business information companies. He worked hard there to improve operational efficiencies and develop law-focused business information tools.

He is the Vice Chair of the Environment and Brownfield Development committee. He is also a member of the Public Utilities, Education, and Health Access and Affordability committees and sits on the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review.

Rep. Moran is a member of the Cuyahoga Falls and Stow-Munroe Falls Chambers of Commerce and the Hudson Rotary Club. He and his wife Barbara have two daughters, Makayla and Mandy.
