Biography
State Representative Seth Morgan is currently serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 36th House District, which includes portions of Montgomery County.
Representative Morgan was elected to Huber Heights City Council in 2001, and at 23, became the youngest council member in Huber Heights history. In 2004 he was selected by his peers to serve as the city’s vice-mayor and served an additional term to the City Council.
Outside of his service to the Legislature, Representative Morgan is the president of MLA Management Systems, Inc., a company that offers business consulting and CFO services to small to medium sized organizations. Additionally, he serves the region through his participation in the Ohio Society of CPA’s, Kids Voting Dayton Government Relations Committee, Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member and vice president of the Miami Valley Venture Association.
In 2006, Morgan was selected to receive the prestigious “40 Under 40” award as given by the Dayton Business Journal, recognizing leaders of Dayton under forty years of age.
He also is the recipient of the 2006 Sheriff Gary Haines Memorial Award for outstanding public service.
Representative Morgan earned his bachelor’s degree in management and accounting from Park College and completed his Master’s of Business Administration at the University of Dayton. He and his wife Debra live with their three children in Huber Heights.
Responsibilities
A State Representative is an elected official whose job is to serve as a direct link between those Ohioans he or she was elected to represent and state government. In order to best fulfill this role, a representative responds to constituent concerns and works to provide solutions through legislative action. In order to best serve their constituents, a state representative attends meetings of their local civic, social and business groups in addition to responding to mail, email and telephone correspondence from constituents in their district.
