Biography
State Representative Kevin Bacon is currently serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 21st House District, which includes Worthington, Worthington Hills, Minerva Park, Northland and parts of Columbus.
In addition to his work as a legislator, Representative Bacon is a practicing attorney. He previously served as a Blendon Township Trustee and as an enforcement attorney for the Ohio Department of Commerce. Representative Bacon was also a prosecutor for the Lancaster City Attorney’s office.
Representative Bacon has earned numerous awards including the Autism Society of Ohio Legislator of the Year Award (2007), the ARC of Ohio Freshman Legislator of the Year Award (2008), the Association of County Boards of MRDD Legislator of the Year Award (2008) and the Ohio Academy of Pediatrics Legislator of the Year Award (2008).
In addition to his service in public office, Representative Bacon has served his community through his involvement with the Worthington Chamber of Commerce, the Dublin-Worthington Rotary, the Ohio Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, and the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood. He is also a former Capital Law School Alumni Board member.
Representative Bacon received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Miami University and his law degree from Capital Law School. He and his wife Melissa live in the Village of Minerva Park with their three daughters.

Responsibilities
A State Representative is an elected official whose job is to serve as a direct link between those Ohioans he or she was elected to represent and state government. In order to best fulfill this role, a representative responds to constituent concerns and works to provide solutions through legislative action. In order to best serve their constituents, a state representative attends meetings of their local civic, social and business groups in addition to responding to mail, email and telephone correspondence from constituents in their district.
